Gotta love the Navy guys in Camo..glad they are on our side!!! (and never try and **** with one of them). In addition to the BUD's folks there are the fighting Seabees that got to avoid the bellbottoms as well.

that cammie business has been the hotest rumor in the navy since I was in. They are authorizing more duty stations to implement fatigues but on a whole the fleet is sticking with the new "dungarees". The new ones are an improvement though. Istead of looking like an inmate now you look like a gas station attendant. Lucky for me I was FMF my whole time so the only dungees I saw were in boot camp. Hey don't forgett the floor waxed boot toes and heel trick. I even ironed 20 pound monofilimant into the seems of my BDUs. Razor sharp creases.

Back in my squid days we pulled up next to the USS Enterprise which was a very fine carrier up in San Francisco.

I just got off duty and tried to go see my roommate from nuclear prototype days way back in Idaho out in the desert.

I was thrown off the quarterdeck and threatened with being written up (oh no, not the permanent record) and told to "get the hell off my ship dirtbag".

Here were my offenses:

Brown white hat (you gotta see a 594 class submarine to understand).
No T shirt (no room).
Boots unshined (shoe polish is an atmosphere contaminant and craps up the people tank).
Dirty uniform (duh I worked in an engine room).
White socks...
UA Belt buckle (didn't know silver dolphins on a belt buckle from the PI were a big deal).
No stencils..30 by 34 pants fit me and the 34 by 32 ones my hot bunk mate wore did not.
Torn pants (yeah yeah those pesky valve stems and stuff sticking out).
No shave (worked all night).
No haircut (99 billets and none of them are barbers).

Asking the Officer of the Deck why he had only one ribbon after he ripped me lacked orderliness but us sub sailors were not known for our grace.

Wait till you get mauled by a pack of saluting Army boots cause your wearing a leatehr flight jacket and a pair or goldwings(aircrew). Those poor kids were convinced I way a two bar colonel. Or top this, getting written up by a Master Chief for wearing an illeagal uniform. Navy Corpsman are authorized to wear Marine charlies with Navy rank. I even asked the dumb SOB "how the hell you think I got this rank in kahki?"
