That last hole might be a little bit on the big side.

just a tad big.. lol..

i think if we drill another 29 we are going to use a fresh bit. my battery was getting low which i think contributed to the disaster.. the tanks bracing was broke to so that could have been a problem too.. (i know .. making excusses) on the bright side.. the 29 gallon tank didn't cost us anything.

i am going to order several more bits. i want to drill the 55 but kinda scared to. i want to get a second one just incase.

drilling the tanks was easier than i expected.. i read several threads were people drilled theirs. there was one that explained it good. using the edge of the bit to get the hole started then gently flatten out the bit for an even hole. i paid attention to that and it worked beautifully. no drill press needed.. lol.

Glad it worked. The drill press is here if anybody in Jax wants to borrow it but I honestly think the hand held drill will actually work better.

Let me know if you want to ride with me. I have to go right by your house (either Blanding or 17) and you aren't out of the way. I am going by LRN's house after the meeting if she doesn't get to make it to the meeting.

The only empty tank I have is a 45 hex. I have a 30 but my wife would bury me if I did anything with it.

Get the drill bit from the guy on Ebay that is in Jax Beach. Have it the next day. And my drill press doesn't die, it plugs into the wall

There is a 55 on craigslist for 50 dollars. Has some kind of 3D tacky background in it.

I bought mine on Craigslist. That was my thoughts and intentions when I got it. My brother has another one just like it. Trying to trade him my 55 for the Hex. Make matching end tables in my living room and seahore tanks. Then I started reading on seahorses and decided to let it wait a while before I try seahorses.

Now that you mention it, the only drill I have that isn't cordless is my drill press.

For some reason, I thought you were talking about the tank, you were talking about the drill bit in Jax Beach.
