Now that was amazing... I used to have an African Grey, but I had find a good home for my Aly... She was so sweet, it broke my heart, but I was in a bad living situation, and had to find her a good home. The afrincan grey is my choice of bird.

Yes! I saw that! They really are smart! Holly has learned some clicker training, as has Skyler (Rose-breasted cockatoo) and Shelby (Bare-eyed)
I have their short movies online if anyone is interested...they are in the beginning stages.

OK... They are here... (don't laugh! ...)
An index of .mpg's:
http://shirleymorgan.com/misc/Holly/Movies/
and the exact same files saved as .mov's are indexed here:
http://shirleymorgan.com/misc/CT/
There are anywhere from 1.4 mb to 4.9 mb.
and the .mpg's are 849 kb to 8mb. I put the 8mb on the .mov as an extra small window file.
Shelby is my ADD student!!

The brown plastic knife is the target stick. They start by touching that for a "click-treat". Then they learn to notice the cue (hand motion) without the target (stick) and eventually they respond with the clicker used only sometimes as a re-enforcer and the treat only sometimes as a re-enforcer -- like the slot machine in Vegas...sometimes you get it...so you keep doing it.

Thanks, Cath! But you don't want to hear her voice when she's loud....you can hear her 6 blocks down the street!

Ya got that right! LOL
Not that i heard Shelby get "vocal" , but can tell you this house gets some upper decibles when the "babies" get to gettin'! Funny thing is , during /after a "serenade" around here, sometimes you can hear Gumby, our Blue Front Amazon, yell: SHUT UP!,,,(wonder where he got that from?) LOL

That is hysterical! I love bird sounds, but when my brother Tom came to visit when I had my cockatiel, he didn't much like Topper's squawk. Come to think of it, Dad kept Topper for a while, and he didn't much like it. Still, Dad taught Topper the 1st few notes of Beethoven's 5th Symphony. Of course, the mockingbirds outside liked that tune too
