Acadia national park is beautiful. Clams are fresh. You are not far from Canada if the fancy strikes you. You can also enjoy the complete absence of the letter "R" in the language

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky went hunting? Well anyway, Brasky decides he's gonna hunt down all four members of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all beg for their lives, except Fleagul.

But a steak ships a bit better than seafood

well... its easier to ship a dozen live lobsters.... its not so easy shipping a dozen live cows. the hardest part is getting them in the styrofoam cooler.

This is true, but a steak ships fine already cut up... a lobster that is dead when it gets to my house is not going on my plate. There would be some happy kitties. My father and I vacationed in Maine for molting season one year. We ate 2 1.5 lb lobsters apiece for lunch and dinner every day for a week

my wifes family is from maine. the "R" thing drives me nuts.. can't stand it. right now my MIL is staying with us for a visit and i tell ya. every time she talks i want to walk out of the house.

i tried maine. the 2 weeks of summer is pretty. just not worth the 11 months of winter to go with it. i hated it there. but then i hate snow all together.. and cold..

lets just say the 3 years i was there wasn't a plesant experience for me. i could have done without most of it. the only really nice experience that i had in maine was my oldest daughter was born there. other than that it was a complete nightmare from .............. well you get the idea. the wife loves it there. she wants to go back.. she can go back if she wants but i'll stay there in the south where its warm.. lol.. besides.. her family don't really care for me too much.. (i won't live in maine.. lol.. and not sure of the other reasons. but they don't like me the same. not that i really care)

you make an interesting point. i never understood why some people move up here and then kvetch about the snow in winter... makes no sense!
if i were to move down south i would not fare too well. i cannot take much hot weather, but i dislike air conditioning, so being there would be a complete waste.

for me a good summer is a few nice 90 degree days with a 72 degree pool to swim in.

it's not the winter I complain about
it's the fact that we get teased with spring coming only to fget slammed with another snow storm
