Family Reunion in Iowa.....
As promised in the a.m. thread, here are the pics from my trip to Iowa for my Gram's crowning as Woman of the Year. She was completely surprised and we had a great time getting together with the family. It was the first time we had all been together since my grandfather died 6 1/2 years ago.
This first pic is Gram getting her corsage from my mom.

This next set of photos are of Gram's place. She lives down in a valley back in the woods. She owns the land on half of a hillside.
This first one is of the side yard. Her house would be to the left and the road in would be to your right. The back grassy area used to be my grandfather's garden.

Gram has a creek that runs through her property.....Mikayla likes to play in the creek and we get some awesome watercress out of it....it's spring fed and the spring source is about a quarter of a mile upstream...

This is from the same spot on the bridge looking up the driveway. Gram's yard and house is just around the last bend. I wish now that I'd taken a shot from the head of the driveway. Oh well, maybe next time...

This is a shot of the woods back behind Gram's house....It is so peaceful out at her place. The only sounds are the sounds of the woods---birds, turkeys, deer.... She has a pregnant doe that comes to the salt block everyday. She had triplets last year and Gram says she's huge. There was too much activity this trip, so we didn't get to see her though....

This is the last shot...Mikayla having fun in the hotel pool. We normally stay out at Gram's when we visit, but there were too many people this time. My uncles stayed with her, since they don't get up to Iowa very often (one lives in Alabama, the other in Arizona)....
I've also got some great flower shots that I'm saving for the morning threads....

What a wonderful event, Jodi! Your Gram is such a lovely lady and it's obvious she gives and receives much love.
I really like that first photo, which shows so many generations, even the not-yet-born!
