The ultimate sell it scam. "It just needs (insert part here) , IME if its a great deal they would spend a few $$$$ and sell it for the big money, if yours is running well, why dump it and take on someones mistakes

If it was me, I'd need to have some proof of some sort...I tend to agree with the thought that "it just needs this little thing done" scam...be sure of what you're getting cuz from what you've said so far it feels like it could end up being a sour deal.

So what bro, work on your own car you will enjoy it more. Ime... I say start adding to it lil by lil or whatever your budget allows. Due to it is a 99 I assume it has 4g64 in it, am I correct? The reason I know this is due my misses has a 01 sebring coupe this model is a dsm. Dsm plate in the engine bay she is rocking a 4g64. Is this your daiy driver? Why not turbo it yourself? I say buy a header and that get a muffer and work on the exhaust piping. I also recommend upgrading the intake throttle body and getting a throttle body spacer. Also try searching around your local junk yards and pull the injectors and the fuel rail might be swapable. to disconnect the fuel rail via the 4g64 you will need a 12 socket and rachet.

If you have an questions about the 4g64 open up a thread and send me a pm and I will comment on it through out the days. The reason I know so much about the 4g64 is that I had to do a head job on my misses car( I'm a young husband hehe).

Also check out this link will give you of different parts.http://www.andysautosport.com/mitsub..._1999_eclipse/ I wouldn't buy there imo. I think that thier parts are over priced. But I use www.andysautosport.com to verify body styles when looking up stuff.

That's what I was thinking. He has a very good platform that he has put a lot of work into.... and he wants to trade for something that is not a good platform to tune.... for 2500 bucks. Maybe he just really needs the money, but it sounds a little fishy. Do you know the guy well? have you ever seen it running well?

The 4g63t is the Mitsu's most tunable mill, you can hit 400 ponies at the flywheel w/o touching the bottom end (I looked at swapping my 4g93 years ago). I would not try to do a lot to the Chrysler mill in yours. Looking for a 4g63T... especially on the AWD platform is where you want to go... but while the mill is considered bulletproof... you certainly can damage one, the EVO turbo is not hard to tear up if the dude didn't have it tuned properly, and there is really no upgrade on the tranny..... so these are things that can easily be damaged in a tuned (and likely raced) car. If I could not hear it run well I would be hesitant.

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky went hunting? Well anyway, Brasky decides he's gonna hunt down all four members of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all beg for their lives, except Fleagul.

also jenglish he has to trade the guy his car + the 2500.00...I say look into a swap and pay a shop to swap it if you like the car so much. Or look for a n/a one. I could of got a drop one (with springs and shocks. The car was 500.00 and had no back seat and it was 5 speed. But I want a civic or another 240.

I looked at a 2+2 85 300z turbo where all 4 seats were milk crates

If I ever get the disposable income for a classic I want to build a JDM Starion.

This says it all, If the ECU has been set up for the turbo, it is almost always flash memory so losing battery is NOT an issue.

I smell scam.

Ask for some of the dyno sheets. Even then, the PO could have sold the software separately. If you really want the deal and you trust the PO implicitly, then ask for a "pay part now, then the balance and the trade" deal AFTER you are sure that the fix is done and have put the vehicle through the mill. Once your trade is gone and you’ve signed the paperwork, you don’t really have any easy recourse. If the PO is not willing to do this, there is usually a good reason...
