Dreamweaver for dummies

Just curious if anyone has any books, links or tips oriented toward point and click people to better understand dreamweaver?

I've wrote a few things for it, but I must admit that it was on a wing and a prayer... It got so confusing I used a different program to build my site, but I want to start working on a new site and I have plans much bigger than my knowledge

Want to have some flash and a few sounds incorporated, along with tabs and dropdowns.

I own the 'unleashed' book for dreamweaver 8 and it was AWESOME. I use DW at work all the time and that book helped out a ton

just so you know, you don't HAVE to use DW to include flash and tabs and the such. It's just a tool, nothing more

I also use visual studio to do a lot of my work as well. The two programs are totally different and help me accomplish my goals easily

You know for a point and click guy, I didn't understand anything but you have a book

I was playing with preformatted css sheets last night and that was sort of doing what I wanted ot to, but I have a lot more playing to do!

CSS is the wave of the future! I just got finished converting our companies websites to CSS-based layouts. Our new version will also be heavily laden with css and some other microsoft 'slight of hand'

I'm slowly figuring it out. The css platform, from what I can see seems to do what I want it to do. I've just been playing up til now, but I'm hoping this weekend I can get something thrown together...

LOL. I have no idea. All I know is when I was going to school for my MCSE, this was THE site to go to if you needed a tech book for cheap.

When I went for my MCSE and some other certs, I was lucky enough to have a deal where I had access to TONS of ebooks...I THOUGHT I saved them but I just can't find them right now

Hey hop have you checked into like www.joomla.org or www.drupal.org or something similar to them for your websites? They are pretty much a point and click deal. Easy to use and not to bad.

Just a suggestion for ya.

Also about the dreamweaver stuff. I have found so far the best way for me to learn it is to just get in there and do it and play around with it. Thre is always an undo button

if i screw something up

Also just google dreamweaver tutorial "what you want to do" "then your version"

example. dreamweaver tutorial css for CS3 something like that. There is a lot of free stuff online for it.

Thanks for the tips guys! I'm going to do some playing this weekend... With any luck I'll have something new up and running since my site is a little out of date... I was building it before I downsized!
