Doug's Copters In Action

I spotted one of Doug's Air-Cranes in action fighting the fires in California:

For more spectacular images of the fires and men & equipment fighting them, see: http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/200...ing_fires.html

Keep 'em flying, Doug!

Thanks Dick! I'm not sure I can hold a candle to your pics! But I do tend to carry my camera more after seeing your photos.

Thanks for the compliment, Hop. It's a good hobby.

Just so no one is misled, I didn't take the Sky-Crane photo. It came off the news site at the link.

Thats actually not one of our Helos, but we perfected the snorkle system you see dangling below it to fill the internal tank, and have provided parts to that company in the past, Dicks photo shows one of ours in action

For the Record, thats an Air-Crane, Sikorsky sold us the type certificate for the aircraft but not the Sky Crane name, course it was originally CH-54 Tarhe, let me see if I can find the pic my boss snapped out back of the ware house, its the helo we sent to Italy to replace the one that "went swimming" , its undergoing final flight and op checks
