Do you recycle?

I'm curious to know what others do to recycle.

I take my waste water from my RODI unit and mix in plant food and use that to water my plants.

I also take all paper products and shred them then toss them in a compost heap out back. I then use that compost on my plants. I toss in all junk mail, newspaper, boxes, etc. Not only does that help the garbage man but it is another way of securing my identity for trash-prowlers

I'd like to hear some other ideas you may do at your own house.

All of our newspapers go to the clinic where my fair half works as a veterinarian to line cages. We water moderately and um...oh yeah use our plastic bags from the grocery store for cat box cleanup.

The cars are tuned up and meet modern air quality standards not belching smoke out like some of these hippie bumper sticker covered subarus.

I rebuilt the toilets so they don't leak and caulked around the windows, and we used most of the parts of the pig that we had butchered (but I had to give the neck bones to Thurmond from Louisiana).

The local waste disposal company gave us a bin, but they will not take glass anymore. I throw my empties in the trash (never ever ever by the side of the road).

I moved and don't get to go plinking much but used to recycle my brass religiously.

That's about it.

I keep looking at my siphoned tank water and trying to think of something useful to do with it. The biggest thing we did this year is to stop using plastic water bottles. Thinking back on the amount we consumed is staggering. I go to the water store once a week and buy RO water, and we carry around water bottles that we bought from REI. It feels good, the water quality is higher, and it's cheaper. We win all the way around for little effort. Our city picks up recyclables with the trash, so we toss everything we can in there. Most weeks, we have more recycled material than waste, so that feels pretty good.
