Hello,
Actually you are wrong. Depleted uranium is used both to protect armored vehicles as well as to create projectiles that can punch a hole in any armor and thus kill the bad guys before our guys get fired on. Thats a good thing. In its solid form, this is harmless. If the material is aerosolized and someone would inhale it, it could be dangerous.....of course, the people in the area of the detonation have more t worry about than inhalation. Studies have shown that the dangerous dose is grams or ounces of DU, so it could take a lifetime on the battlefield to get even a fraction of that. I have posted some more info below. But suffice to say that this is yet another incident of the left using half truths to scare people.
actually, it wont let me post the data....I tried to cut and paste...but here are the facts...DU is 200,000 times less radioactive than uranium.....and in 16 studies of over 30,000 workers in plants where they are exposed, there have been no medial issues...so the pics you see of deformed babies on the web site you linked to are..........lets say, sensational.
Cheers
Pat
