Cool visitor in the yard.....Big Pics.
A few days back I was greeted by a pretty cool visitor who decided he would do some hunting in my yard. I walked out of my front door to find this guy in the front yard, I was surprised I didn't spook him. He would go from the roof of my house and pounce on the unsuspecting critters running around in my grass. My yard is loaded w/ lizards and the sorts so I suppose that's what he was hunting. He then took a trip to the back yard and landed on my neighbors swing set. He definitely knew I was there, but was surprisingly unphased by my presence!!
Here's a few shots of him doing his thing, I've also got a video I'll try to post a link to of him w/ a squirrel in the back.
He hung around the house for a couple of hours going from tree to tree, finding new hunting spots. The neighborhood I live in has a surprising amount of wildlife, as most of the natural canopy was left when these homes were built. We have Ospreys and Bald Eagles that all frequent the area. Plus some Owls that will make you think you are in the middle of the rainforest making Monkey like sounds!
Hope you Enjoy, I'll try to link the video.......

Yea, he lived.....Honestly I could do with one less squirrel in my Yard!!
While this is a resident in the yard and not a visitor, I though some of you might like this shot....I have 2 varieties that bloom each summer, pink and yellow...

Thanks guys I have to say that the Plumeria flower is one of my favorite plants in my yard.....Of course the Bromeliads, Orchids and Staghorn ferns rank pretty high too!! My biggest staghorn is just over 20 years old now and is quite the beast.
Here's another cool resident I snapped some shots of......Funny thing is after taking pictures of this guy, a couple of weeks later my girlfriend and I were driving to the grocery store at night and I look on my windshield and there is that frog just STARING at me. Well I'm doing about 50 mph in traffic with no way to rescue the poor guy!! He actually hung on all the way to the grocery, where I quickly jumped out and grabbed him.....Instead of leaving him in a Publix parking lot , I opted to put him in an empty bottle and bring him home I returned him to the same tree I saw him in before...
