I think, but not positive, that the hawk might be a red-tailed hawk?? I haven't tried to ID him, but I believe they are common around here.

Thanks for the comments guys, It really can be entertaining to walk around my yard sometimes. I'm the guy in the neighborhood that goes against the grain and plants everything they tell you won't make it!!

That's awesome! There is something WILD about the birds of prey that just takes gives you that feeling of being IN the wild... escpecially when they are in your backyard. Thanks for sharing! I can't wait to hear about more of your backyard adventures.

have you thought of falconry. I am half way finish with the art of falconry by frederick the second of hoenstaufen. a book written in the 1200's and is still considered the first work on orinthology
