Computer/USB electrical question.
I bought an MP3 player I really like, the stupid thing however is it must be charged by plugging it into your computer's USB port.
I listen to it frequentally,.. all day at work, and when I'm at home, plus at the Gym, so the 15 hours it plays are used up practically every day, but I don't want to leave my computer on all night every night to charge this thing because of the ammount of power it uses.
Does anyone see any reason why I can't plug a 5V power supply into an old USB connector,.. hooking +5 to Pin 1, and Gnd to Pin 4 (that's the USB pinout) leaving the data connections as a N/C and charge it like that?
Thanks!
