Computer Gurus help
When I visit certain sites (my own store, TRT, Marine Depot) some graphics do not load, some do. They are consistent. It happens on my desktop and lap top. I think it must be a setting in Norton. When I turn off the firewall everything works fine (on both computers).
For example, I can never see my own sig, but I can see others and I can see the banner on top.
Any ideas what I need to change and how to find it?
Thanks,
Fritz

It sounds like cookies from certain sites may be getting blocked. If you're subscription to Norton is almost over look into NOD32. It is very good antivirus program without the bloat of Norton and 50% less.

Firewall programs in general are a PITA!
Fritz, Norton is just blocking cookies from unsecure sites. If you keep your firewall off, you need to make sure that you bump up your security. ie do more virus/spyware scans, be more careful of which sites you visit ect...

I dont believe in firewall software for this very reason.
It is a PITA!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just scan my computer once a day with a virus software and once a week with a spyware software. And i dont go to any other sites than TRT, computer hardware sites, and school related sites.

Seems like all of you are pointing to the same issues, thanks.
I would like to try to take care of this leaving norton on. It seems like it would be prudent to scan once a day anyhow.
I actually had my Ebay account hacked last night (though I doubt there is a connection between that and a fire wall). Anyhow not to get sidetracked...
1) Is there a setting to override cookie blocking or make certain sites safe?
2) can I automate a virus scan?
I am not sure if this is a connection either... but I might as well put it out there... The computer crashes once a day about 10AM. It matters not if I ran it all night or fresh boot it in the morning.
Thanks for the help!

Hey, I found it. It was not alowing the site option. It was "turn off add blocking". It seems to think some jpg are adds and others are not. It obviously does not have much of an AI though ;p
Thanks.
