Come Visit Lake MI.

Here are some snap-shots of the area we stayed at last week. I thought I'd share some of the beauty MI. has to offer. This place is on the west coast of MI. in a town called Holland. We we're right on the beach, secluded and private.

This is the "almost" night sky from our deck on the cliff.

This is our beach, with a view of Lake Michigan, beach temp was about 85 all week and water temp was around 70. On the weekends, some amazing boats cruise up and down this section of the lake.

Here's a shot of the cliff the cottage is on. the trick is to take everything you need down in one trip, thoses stairs can be a real pain, about 50 or so. These cliffs are awsome, there full of grape vines, wild flowers, and huge trees atop swinging in the breeze.

Here is a shot of yours truly flying my trick kite. If you walk down the beach about 2 miles, there's a state park with a huge pier and channel to a inland lake. You can catch hundreds of perch, and brown trout and the occasional salmon off the pier. There's a huge lighthouse, and marina with some of the nicest boats around. Good place to sit and boat/people watch.

Finally, here's my kite. At one point, about 6 hawks came flying over the trees and circled the kite, I thought they might dive bomb it. It was so cool. I got to fly with the hawks. Anyway there is a glimpse of Lake Michigan for those that have never been. Michigan has alot to offer in the way's of outdoor recreation.

Beautiful, Nick. Very cool on the hawks and the kite! We usually take a couple of kites with us to the beach when we go camping. One time my son's favorite kite broke loose and he and my husband chased it about a mile and half down the beach. They finally got it though, I was amazed.

Looks like you had a peaceful vacation. Ready to go again?

Alice

Hey Nick! Sorry I did not catch this thread earlier! Awesome pics and look like you had a great time!

When you talked about catching perch, that is right up my alley. I love perch as I grew up on Lake Champlain in Vermont and went perch fishing all winter long and we had a blast! Thanks again for sharing! Johnny
