cockatiel coming back home

My cockatiel, Topper, is coming back home after being at my Dad's for the past 3 years. To those of you who have birds and fish, do you have any problems with the feathers being a reef problem? My house is very small, and I"m concerned about the mess.

Hi Cath!
We have 5 birds in the living room with two of the tanks. We also keep a little mini-vac that's battery-charged next to the sofa for picking up bird food (pellets, seed, veggies, whatever they drop) and feathers. Shelby, our Cockatoo, is loose most of the time we are home, and feathers just haven't even been an issue...and the living room is certainly not large by any standards.

Cath as long as you don't let her swim in the tank they shouldn't be a problem... lol

We have an african grey parrot and she's in the same room as my tanks and except for the fan getting a little dusty there doesn't seem to be a problem...

Shirley, you've abviously never owned 200+ of them at one time. I have and I won't post my opinion of them or lovebirds... lol

Don't get me wrong I love parrots, I just have a slightly different perspective after having been a breeder of parrots for about 7 years...

Nope, I've only had one at a time, 3 different times...

And, our parrotlets, who bred like rabbits, their eggs turned out to be sterile!!!!

I've always had a slight dyslexia problem, but, I swear I thought this thread read COCKTAIL COMING BACK HOME. It's the name Margaritaville! I hardly ever drink-reeeallyy!

P.S. Just make sure your feathered friend can't find his way into the great salt bath-that could be very bad.
