Hehehe! I did test it out this evening when I got home. I turned it off, waited for the sound to stop. Then I turned the key to "on" without starting the car. Made the same sound. I'll try it tomorrow AM when the car is cold. I plan to ask the hubby of a co-worker who lives close by to check it out over the weekend.
Thanks!

No it doesnt only when it runs for a while and slooshes around and makes pressure it vents for about 20 mins after you shut off the engine, dealer says it is normal.

My wifes new SUV check engine light kept coming on and the dealer tried to fix it 9 times and a yr later they finnaly had to drop the tank and replace the hose from the tank to the filler neck.Must of had a pinhole in it and would lose pressure and cause the light to come on!What a ROYAL PAIN IN THE @#%!

Ewwww, George...that really is a PITA about your wife's SUV.
So if the noise with my car is the fuel pump, is that the normal way it works, or something that needs to be addressed?
BTW...my car actually has 20K on it. yeh, yeh, yeh...I can hear you guys now..."middle age widow librarian drives car to and from work..."

I'd check with Saturn first Cath, But current model fuel pumps are noisy enuf to be heard, under the right conditions,,,,,#1 thing to do to keep yer pump runnin' a long time is: Don't let the fuel level in your tank get too low,,,,Most all pumps are on the bottom of the tank, and use the gas to help keep things cool.Letting the fuel get low in your tank will shorten the life of the pump,,(by the pump getting warm/hot)
