Burned (be careful) (pics)

We just moved into a new house a couple of months ago. We have 5 acres of land in the sticks. I was burning off a small pile of brush in the fire pit last week and found myself on the ground after a fireball erupted from the fire. Apparently the previous homeowners left a gas cyclinder for a blow torch under the ashes and it exploded. I have major burns on both legs from my ankles to my knees. Be careful if you start a fire and don't know what is burried under the ground near the fire.

Can any of you that know me think of any other damage that my body can receive?

Glad the damage wasn't worse. My boss just had a bad burn from a burn pile as well. He used a bit of gas to get it going and it burned one side of his head really good. Bee careful out there with fire!

****. Glad you are okay! Keep that clean from infection.
What makes it worse is that it was someone elses stupidity that caused it. That sucks.

OUCH! My eyes are watering just looking at that! I'm glad you weren't hurt worse though, looks like you were wearing socks and a good pair of shorts that protected you a little bit.

Oh man, that was not a good thing at all and I am sorry you got burned like that. Did you go to the hospital to get that looked at? I am asking because the pictures look like you are sitting on a kitchen or bathroom floor, and as Motorslave stated your biggest issue right now will be possible infection.

I wish you the best for a speedy recovery as well.

Thanks for the info Kelli.

I was just concerned that he might be someone like me who would say I don't need to go to the doctor for this.

As Dobe mentioned, I AM the ER. (Long time, no chat - sorry guys) And I'm insisting that he go see my good friend the burn specialist on Friday.

Until then, I mostly get to be a nurse.
I keep meaning to update on the tank, and then someone has to go nearly blow himself up. Never a dull moment...

Danielle
PS - ya'll can see the progress in person at MACNA - at least, we're planning to go for now.
