Bimmer Lovers......HELP!!!

I went to the dealership today to get the first oil change done on the Z4 and what do I see?

This is the new BMW Z4 M Roadster. YES!! It has an M3 engine! Adds about 80 HP. I've already asked the dealer to work out a trade in price.

I'm not exactly happy about trading in a 1 year old vehicle either. I may wait until '07. Plus they don't have the blue, like mine, any more. It would also take me a while to get used to the two creases in the hood. They had to raise it a bit to stuff that engine in there.

Looks nice. I wouldn't trade in though. i would try to find a private buyer if you can. you can get more back that way.

It could take quite a while to sell a $50K car privately....

I have a lowly 325Ci but drive it like I stole it. That M roadster is nice though but yours is 90 percent as pretty and 70 percent as fast.

Find an autocross or a dirt lot to do doughnuts or a back road and get the propeller spinning. In a couple of years that M will be yours.

If you got the money to burn do it, otherwise me personally I dont do trades with dealers. I always sell then work them over, I dont go home till they announce they hate my guts. I figure normally average I work 4 hours at a dealership and can get them down anywhere from 3,000 to 8,000 on a car under retail (not sticker)

If your not rich (not saying your not) then I would sell outright and buy after you workem over if you can deal with them. Personally I get qoutes for the same car from multiple dealers and let them fight, thats a good start.

If your trying for a hard to find car, move on, eat it and buy, or try to play it off like its an "OK" car and see where it gets you.

Good luck and may your patience be with you.

dont forget to charge the dealer 300$/month for the advertising they put on the back of the car, they crap their pants when you bring that up. when i got the jetta, i asked them to write that up in the contract. when the guy started looking at me funny, i told him to get that stupid sticker off my car or pay me for advertising!
