Best Driving Music?
Maybe this one needs different categories, lol, one for going fast, one for stressful driving, one for everyday commuting, etc. Speak up now, lol.

Depends on the mood. Sometimes, it's Korn, or Jimmy Buffett, or Glenn Miller. The tastes differ from day to day....

Driving to work in the morning I like to listen to Rush, Everclear, and most any hard rock.
Driving home from work trance/techno/dance.
And Pink Floyd usually puts me to sleep at night.
I listen to everything but country music(no offense to country music lovers).

Mostly I listen to recorded books when I drive. I like books with an edge.
But sometimes I like to listen to Bob Dylan or Willie Nelson when I drive. Sometimes I like to listen to Jazz.

I have to listen to Bob and Tom show on the way to work, on the way home I am all over the dial fron classic rock , to hard rock or country with occasional oldies, can';t do the pop stations its boring to me
on the windy country road I commute on Phantom of the Opera is good , esp if I can synch the music with the road

Britney Spears, Westlife or 98 Degrees.
I borrow the CD's constantly.
It all just blends into the background and keeps me focused on driving:
I can't afford to LISTEN to music, as Manila makes NYC look like Polite Drivers Central.
Not all pop will serve. For just one example, Christina Aguilera gets on my freakin' nerves with all her overwrought vocal gymnastics. Most rock, rap or even hiphop is bad too, as it all tends to set me into a rhythm and pace in my driving --and then I'm easy pickings for other drivers.
Bob Marley is the worst ---I wind up driving like a n00b in slo-mo.
I normally disdain radio, desiring control over what gets piped in while I drive. But, when I was recently in Chi-town, I found myself frequently tuned to Rush Limbaugh.
I have no recollection what the heck he was on about, but I think the sound of his pace-free (if passionate) pontifications lessened the (I'm hopeful you understand) severe, and unfamiliar stress of driving on so much uncontested asphalt.

Well, Horge, I unfortunately can't empathize with such traffic capers here in Sarasota... cars are beautifully spaced, with ample moving room, and much opportunity for playfully aggressive acceleration and turning.
For me, Bjork's "Homogenic" album is by far the best driving music for 'round these parts. Anything Vivaldi is perfectly fitting, as well as any building, brooding John Williams composition. For angry driving, Fear Factory: "Demanufacture" (ever heard of THEM Horge?).

Fear Factory?
"Heard of", yes, but never "heard".
I'll check FF out one of these days --but I warn you I'm trying to keep my blood presure under control!

Blueman group Drumbone, PVC IV, Tension, etc etc. 70mph, sun shining, windows down, sunroof open, and off for a week....can't be beat.
Soundgarden Just Like Suicide Acoustic version is pretty awesome too.
