That is wierd. It just seems like at high speed you would see your body moving in the wind. I'm just thinking about how easy it is to break into a ragtop jeep. When my brother had a soft top jeep he just left the doors unlocked, otherwise people would just cut in.

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky went hunting? Well anyway, Brasky decides he's gonna hunt down all four members of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all beg for their lives, except Fleagul.

Well since it's a Bimmer I would expect it to be tougher than Kevlar, and have its own ant vandal system

Well, if a fabric covering was good enough for the Red Baron in his Fokker triplane, I guess it's good enough for a beemer.

I guess this could put body shops out of business, too. Mom and her sewing kit could repair a fender bender with needle and thread.

Another thought is that your laptop, shotgun, or whatever valuables you keep in the trunk would be easy prey for any teenager with a Barlow knife.

Something to think about but I don't think Spandex would go over well with the good ole boys as 'hide' for their jacked-up 4WD pickups.

Reminds me of the old SNL skit the adobe jeep, the car made out clay

“German engineering and Mexican know-how helped create the first car to break the $200 barrier.”

AMEN!

The think Tank at BMW has somehow deduced that bigger, fatter, porkier, (larger carbon footpreint, poorer gas mileage) is what most Americans want (NOT!), such that although the latest M3 (E92) is probably the fastest (in a straight line), it has lost its finesse, as it is now also the heaviest one ever made.

BMW has gotten away from the idea of finesse and handling with power, which has always been what the BMW roadmark has always been about for bimmer owners. BMW seems to have strayed far from their motorwerks Blau mit weiss roots and does not seem to care about their supporting base of dyed-in-the-wool fan(atics). I guess so long as there are driver wannabees with lots of money, this will be the furture of yet another marquee of past greatness...

I guess this means I will hold on to the M3 I have now and hope that it lasts well into half a million miles, though I do like the last of the Z4 hardtop M coupes made last year (heh, no more of them to come...)

i would think that once the skin rips, you would get all kinds of gunk in the engine what happens when it rains?
you have a leaky car.

i really don't like the idea of this car. instead of all this crap they are putting out, why dont they give us a car that's affordable?
you know under 10k
