Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky went hunting? Well anyway, Brasky decides he's gonna hunt down all four members of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all beg for their lives, except Fleagul.

Its Ok, My old lady had a Mustang and she still didn't get it. Snow chains go on the drive axle, chains are on the front, mustangs are RWD. Maybe the person thought it would help with turning.

Yup, Mustangs have always been rear wheel drive, it's Fords consession to old school performance cars, back in the 80s Ford said that Mustangs would be carburated because the die hard Mustang owners were performance oriented and like to tweak on their cars to get a few extra horse power, of course the first Fuel injection units where pretty crude by todays computerized engine managment systems. Bck then, they hadn't thought of performance chips that could make awesome power gains in 15 minutes install time, rather than the old school process of rebuiding the engine and adding a lot of spendy performance parts, (disclaimer, not that tweaking a puter motor is cheap, it's all relative)

Oh Hell no, I can cite you a wide range of "SUV's" piloted by clueless yuppies, and worse, ijits in wnnabe SUV like all the trendy AWD kinda station wagon thingies, for some reason most of the people that drive these cars are invincible
A car is a car, IF the driver understands the limitations of the vehicle, and the vehicle is equipped with suitable tires, any car can be Okay in snow, or a nightmare, esp if the driver pushes the car way beyond its capabilities

Yep we passed a few rolled over 4WD's last weekend on our trip to vail in the RWD Bimmer 325Ci. The secrets are leave plenty of room, have real snow tires (they need to have the little mountain symbol on them, M&S should stay home, and driving moderately. There is no difference in braking or cornering...just traction.
I do have to admit to warming up to the Dynamic Stability Control system though.
Our Z3 is used on non snow days. Even with all season tires and traction control it requires some basic pilot skills.

Heh! The only vehicle I take a chance crumping a fender on in snow and Ice is my F-150 with Bridgestone Winter Dueler DM-Z2 Studless tires, AND a load of wood or cinder blocks in the back. I have driven home after a day of work when it sleeted and the road froze over in the M3, but it (the bimmer) is not set up for winter driving (tires and crosssectional sizing), however , with DSC on it handles well. I just do not want to take the chance under what I consider less than ideal conditions on crumpling my original sheet metal and paint. I can by another truck for nutin' (not that I want to lose the one I have), but try to find a pristine M3 now at a reasonable price that's been taken care of and maintained like mine has, now that's the rub...
BTW, Perry, yes, ALL the women on Fox news network are HOT, IN PARTICULAR, JANE SKINNER!

Yep I guess my "skinny" 205/55-16 Dunlop Winter Sport 3D's would limit the fun in your M3 when the pavement is dry. I am still amazed how well they do in between skiing trips though on the dry pavement.
It is going to be a lot different putting my summer setup with the wide tires back on.
The Z3 has a little too much cross section (225) for the size of the car when it gets slickery, which keeps things entertaining.
