baby thread! (baby's coming)

I get induced tuesday march 1st at 10:00 pm, wish me luck! I will post pics of the baby hopefully soon after he's born. planning on getting the epidural; if youre going to have a root canal, do you DECLINE the pain medication?! I THINK NOT!!! Ha ha.

anybody have any words of advice on what items to bring to the hospital (other than the obvious) that I might not think of?

From what i remember, i would bring your own body wash/soap/shampoos and lotion and deodorant. the hospital i had my daughter in provided it, but it was not what i was used to.....

you may already have those things packed... where my daughter was almost 3 weeks premature, we hadn't really packed much when i suddenly went into serious labor.

Definately bring some simple creature comforts, comfy slippers, i would have loved to have one of my own fuzzy blankets... lots of socks...

depending on how long you stay, maybe a couple books...

i was so wiped out for 2 days that i slept most of it, they would wake me to breastfeed her and by the time i waddled over they had already had her on the bottle and almost full. if you want to breastfeed, make it VERY clear ahead of time or the nurses (at least mine did, they treated me like i was an idiot) will do whatever they want with YOUR baby.... i am still feeling the annoyance of that deal LOL

I am SO happy for you.... it is so exciting.

Prayers for an uncomplicated delivery for you both and i look forward to pictures!

Love n' hugs!!!!

Woo Hoo, Congrats and best wishes on the new one.
Do set the rules of engagement for baby feeding in advance
take your fave robe and slippers
rather than a book, maybe an audio book, less effort

Don't forget your hairbrush! Trying to comb the snarls out of your hair with the little comb they'll give you is exhausting. If you have long hair, don't forget a scrunchie or hairband.

Have a standing order with your husband to bring you a pizza or cheeseburger - or bring the number for delivery.

Good luck, Erin and God bless you and the little one!

Congrats Erin

Slippers was a big one with my wife other than that the hospital gave us everything.
As the others said, if you plan to breast feed make it VERY clear right from the start. My wife swears by her nursing pillow, it called "my breast friend", she says thats the best buy she has made. Not something you need for the hospital but you may want it when you get home.

Lots of luck on the day, looking forward to seeing the pics

Steve

WOW!! I'm slow on this thread, Erin! A new TRT baby in the midst. That's great

Seems to me that you might want some nice soothing body lotion in an scent that you like (or no scent)...but whatever it is..make sure that you get what's nice for YOU!

I can't wait to see pictures.
