Automotive: How to change a serpentine belt.
I was changing the coolant on my truck this afternoon when I noticed the serpentine belt didn't look too good. So I figured I might as well change that while I was working on the truck. I thought maybe some of you might want to know just how easy it is to do this. Here are some photos I took along the way. First take out the old belt like this one here:

Next, clean out the leftover belt that is left here on the radiator fan:

Be sure and check the alternator. You never know where there are leftover pieces of the belt:

Once you have removed all of the serpentine belt, make sure to put a new one back in one piece the same way you took it out. Have a nice day

I'm thinkin about complaining to Chevy too. I just spent $1000 on my 99 Tahoe (barely out of warranty). Alternator, ignition switch (wouldn't read the theft deterrant chip in the key so I couldn't start it), and some other doo dad. At least the new alternator has a lifetime guarantee.

At least another 6 months When I compared it with the new belt, about half of it had been shredded away. I wonder how much longer it would have lasted before breaking.
