Attn: Seattle area members

Hello gang,

Well, it is official. I have been promoted and am being moved to Seattle. My area is between Chehalis and N. Seattle. I can live anywhere between those, but my office is in Kent.

Anyone know of, or have a small house or apt. to rent? Pam and the kids will stay here until the middle boy graduates next June. Steph graduates this June and I dont want to move Travis for his Senior year. That would suck!

Anyway, any help or pointers would be appreciated!

Thanks, Chris

I got one of those little booklets the other day and I have 2 Times papers. Its just hard to know what is a good neighborhood or where the traffic hot spots are. I was just trying to take a leg up and find someone up there that had one or knew of one.

I am a signal maintainer for Union Pacific Railroad.

Thanks for the help!!!!!!!!!!

Since you have a large territory, I would recommend heading a little south, Tacoma/Fife/Puyallup area much less expensive. Kent is, well it's Kent enough said. A big part is the hour that you work, since you can decide your living area based on the opposite flow of traffic.

Kent sucks. I lived thier when I first moved to washington, bad move. Tacoma might be a bit of a drag depending on what time you start in the morning. Puyallup is not to bad only really a 15 min drive to Kent if that. The traffic going south is easy so I wouldnt worry about going that direction. Or you can come and live near me in Sumner/ Auburn. Thier is a new townhouse apartment project down the road I will do a drive by tommorrow and see if they have rentals

Thanks Mike,

When I asked the new manager where and what his rules were yesterday, he said. "I want someone up there who wants to be there"." Ask around as to where the best place to live is"

So, I guess its pretty much wide open. I do have to be in the Kent office every morning at 7am. I am off at 3:30pm, so you can figure the traffic patterns around that. Although, I am on call 24/7, my main time frame is the 7-3 thing.

Looking forward to exploring all the SW shops. There are hundreds with the population base up there right? I wont have a tank up there. Will hold off and see what happens. But I still have room in the 240g here at home

Cant wait to see your new baby Mike!

Have a great weekend, Chris

Ummm...no, there isn't. You may find out we've got it pretty good in the Portland area in the way of LFS

So you're keeping the house you're in now, with the tank up, and just moving to the Seattle area temporarily?

Sure Alice, Burst my bubble

I was trying to make the trauma of leaving my reef more bearable. Pam and the kids are going to stay here and I can come home on most weekends.

I have one son that graduates OSU next June, a girl that is a Senior and a son that is a Junior. The daughter is going to OSU next year. The 2 oldest are in ROTC for the Marine Corp. The son that graduates next year is enlisting in the USMC. So, we will only have one left at home. He will be between Jr and Sr. High so it will be the best time to move if we end up going.

There is the chance that a guy here at home is moving and the next guy east is retiring in a year+. If I can pull off their territory, I can leave all as it is. Bummer, I have to hold off on the 350g until all this is settled

Oh well, things happen for a reason. Right???? Lets hope so.

hey chris~ I would have to agree with mike, I think sumner or puyallup(where I reside) would be a great choice. Like I told you before, I'm not a fan of kent either. When are you making the move?

Dont sweat the time thing Mike, I am going to try and extend the expenses and motel thing. After all the changes, there is always a chance I can be bumped (its a union thing for about 3 weeks) so I am not to worried about it. The guy there now has been living in the office for 5 months now. He does not want to be there and was forced. I can stay there too for a while if need be. Its not that big a deal.

But I do appreciate the help, and I most certainly want to see your setup.

Thanks, Chris

I ws just looking at the map. It all looks so close together. I lived in Issaquah back when I was in the 5th grade, but it was way out in the middle of nowhere then!

Bellvue would be nice I hear, but isnt I 405 a nightmare?
