Artists...
I notices a couple other people (ahem... Shirley, Ann-Marie) are artists/painters... it'd be awesome if you guys could maybe post some of your work? Jerel... I expect to see you with some fancy handiwork digital camera pictures of Hooty and friends.

Wow... I love your minimalist composition, it really works with your color diction... Your markmaking is resonant of Mario Sanchez, yet on traditional terms...

Hey Ann-Marie,
I saw your paintings several weeks ago when I was first coming back on the board...I followed a link to some sort of contest where I think you had submitted a story -- VERY interesting story of your life and your goldfish -- and from there I somehow found your paintings! Your soul is in your work...huge feelings come forth from your work -- It's excellent in my opinion!

i love art....i've been in sort of a slump, but i've been re-inspired by making thank-you notes for all the folks here who are helping me out with stuff to get my new tank up & going (if it'll ever HAPPEN lol)...i wish i had a scanner, some of this stuff i'm doing is WAAAAAay better than my other stuff...maybe some people will scan when they get 'em

Ann-Marie; Definitely love to see them! I know what you mean about slumps... I'm just pulling out of mine. I hadn't made a good piece, or really any piece, in probably 3 months.

OK, here's a couple of paintings I did...the Winter Marsh I'd been wanting to do and didn't have the "drive" until one morning during my Senior year in high school. I mentioned this urge to my mother and she, a serious artist and photographer, told me to stay home and paint! I did...I started early and painted until nearly midnight...That's what I remember about this painting...seizing opportunity, appreciating parents who allowed change from the routine.
The night sailing picture was inspired by the quote; I liked the quote and waited for a picture to put with it to come to me.

I have dabbled at painting, though I don't consider myself an artist. Besides, it's been a few years since I did any serious dabbling.
This is a large (48"x30") acrylic, "Greenbrier", of the river that flows near my mother's birthplace in the Smokies:
This is a watercolor, "Boats", of Maine Lobster Boats:
A pen and ink & watercolor, "Portsmouth", of a section of the waterfront at Portsmouth, New Hampshire:

Ann-marie-
I have no idea what Chris said, but your work is amazing! Absolutely beautiful. I bet they look even better in person.
Chris-
I happen to know you have some of your art on the web...come on...show and tell
