What are you interested in playing?

Hohner Marine Band used to to be the choice of all the old blues harp players

get a couple of Maine bands in a few keys GCD maybe and practice, its not hard to play basic songs
Once you can do simple stuff, theres advanced techniques you can aquire pr get one of the big Chromatic harmonicas with the plunger that changes pitch

Sure I have a couple of them They are strictly for personal amusement, just like my guitars Learning on your own is fine. It's a fairly quick learning curve as long as you have some tone to yourself

I make some squeeks here and there. But I have a good friend who is incredible. He plays smut music, but the guy is super talented.

John Poppers ability makes blues traveler one of my favorite bands. Anybody else here listen?? He is truly AMAZING what he can do with his harps. Plays the harmonica like nothing you could imagine if you arent familiar.

I Play, too...

Well, kinda. I can't play "known notes" (IE: can't even handle happy birthday), but I play what I feel inside, and people seem to like it. I took it on as a sort of therapy a few years ago.

As far as learning it - I wish I had known about "Ronnie" a long time ago. PM me, and when I get home tonight, I will send a link to his site. He makes some DVDs that are instructional for harmonicas. I have the first one, and it is pretty cool.

I found it! http://www.youtube.com/user/RonnieShellist

I also have some hendrix that Ill bet money you dont have. (I might lose...but id still bet sorry..changing subject LOL) They are some of the prizes of my collection. One he does like 20 something Bob Dylan songs.......and the other is half just songwriting and behinds the scenes stuff and the other half all blues. sweet stuff.

learning on your own is not hard if you want to do it, if your not all that interested in it.seek lessons..but if you like doing it & are addicted to music youll do fine on your own..ive learned Paino,Keybord Acoustic & Electric guitar all on my own, took about 4 years tho
