anyone know what the hardest part of working at LFS.

OK , For all that have worked in LFS for someone else. I am sure it is not the same when You own it. So if You worked at the LFS and still do or not whats the hardest part of the job.

I work at a LFS and will be leaving it next week, I do have my reasons for it and will chime back in on it later.

If You don't work or never have post what You think would be the hardest part of the job.

Seeing all the fish and corals and inverts and wanting to buy them all?

Or maybe you spend your whole paycheck on stuff at the LFS because it was such a great deal?

Selling fish and inverts to people that you are pretty sure dont have the tank to keep them; i.e. mandarins, carnation corals.

Also spending my whole paycheck at the LFS, like Tim.

When I worked at Petcare I had to leave when they started selling Birds and small animals. The loss of life in the freshwater tanks daily was heartbreaking enough. Also selling fish and animals to people that had no business owning anything let alone a living creature was to difficult

I agree on the selling things to people that have no idea on what they are doing is hard. We did a good job of not doing that.

I have helped out a guy for some time now... the hardest part is spending a ton of time showing him and training him on how the tanks need to work... and then watching him still going on the same crappy track he has been on.

Shipments are coming in and half the stuff is dead and they are also sending you things that should have never been taken out of the ocean, but there is nothing u can do about that.

The funny thing about it, I have been in the hobby for over 30 years , and last year got a chance to go to work for a really nice store here, Owners are great, store is clean and only saltwater, no pets or fresh water fish. The pay is lousy like Doug said. But I knew that going into it. I swear I have done the routine over and over on setting up a tank and the cycle process. Just to have the people not listen to a word you say and run down the road and buy a bunch of fish from another store. then come back and ask why they have ich and why all the fish are dying. So for anyone who thinks it is a piece of cake and a dream job. It is cool but alot of work. I am going back to buying and selling antiques, postcards and the like. More my thing. I will keep my hobby a hobby.

I would think that the worst part would be the same as any other service based job. The customers.
