anyone know anything about a 1970 Honda CT70 Mini trail?

I am thinking about getting this little mini bike for riding around the neighborhood and trails. I am pretty sure its street legal since its got a 70cc engine, speedo, and lights. I dont know much about it but its pretty cool. If anyone can comment on it I would be greatful

I had a 1969 Honda CT50 and it was a solid bike. I just can't beleave they are brining in that kind of money now! With 70cc you are required to have a cycle license and all that apply on street for a full size cycle. Any thing over 50cc. 49cc and under on the street all that is required is a drivers license and must be over 16 YOA.

I love the early Honda's I wish I never got rid of my 50cc.

its a cool looking bike. I was going to buy a honda CBR 600 RR but I am looking to buy a house soon and the house kinda out weighs the bike. This will hold me over until I am in a new place and have a few years of mortgage payments behind me. I love the look of it. I just want something to ride to the LFS and around the beach on the weekends. How fast do you think a 70cc engine can move a mini bike with a 190lb adult?

If you like the mini trail, look into a used Trail 110, a little bigger, safer and they have a hi/low range transmission making them really handy for dam near anything

On the speed it depends what type of work was done. But either way even stock, it should be a blast. For $1300 you should be able to get something bigger if you wanted it. But the 70 Honda is very cool!

I rode a Trail 70 when I was a kid! It's an awesome bike...but not for the street. It's just not fast enough.

I had a trail 50 of that same era. I'll give you a hint as to how old I am: I got it new for Christmas. Some of the older kids in the neighborhood had the trail 70 and I thought it was lightening fast. Those bikes can take a LOT of abuse and keep on going. We used to wear out the woods on those bikes and they never let us down. Fond memories.
