Anyone have HDTV on their PC? Looking for suggestions

Thinking of getting a PC setup on my TV with an HDTV tuner card. Just wondering if anyone else has this setup. Also want to have it setup with Media Center to record TV.

I'm just elated that I got a HD widescreen on my laptop. But now I have a hard time reading text on regular monitors

no tv on my puter, I have yet to make the jump to a HDTV but probably do it in the next year, as well as get a couple of them decoder thingies. Isnt there a list to get them discounted or something?

Instead of paying a fortune for DVR with comcast, I'd like to setup a PC next to the TV and use windows media center to record programs.

i was just about to ask you why you wanted a computer instead of a dVR.
is this an existing computer or are you making a computer from the ground up.
i hope you have an existing computer because otherwise you will be spending just as much money on a computer than a DVR. i just got a 52 inch lcd and just last week hooked up my computer to it.
however i already have a DVR hi def so i use the computer to record programs for my Iphone otherwise Itunes charges me $1.99 per episode
I really dont think its necassary to record in hidef unless u plan on keepin the files.
it will take up alot alot alot of hard drive space. you will need at least a 200gb hard drive if you want to record everything hi def
Happauge makes good tv tuners and they even have remotes that will controll your tv vcr and/or cable box
the wintv pvr 500 is the most advanced and it lets you watch one channel and record another
the Hidef tunner can be pricey
Do your research it may not be woth it to do it HI-def

I already have a few PCs I could probably use. I just want to find a good HD Tuner card that I can put in it. I don't need to record everything in HD but I'd like to be able to watch HD programs and record if I want. I'm not concerned much about HDD space since they are pretty cheap. I've been looking at the Happauge tuners. I like the 500 but I don't think it HD is it?
