Anyone have a Nikon Coolpix 4800?

Well, it looks like our Nikon 995 may be on it's last legs. We're not exactly sure what's going on, but it's not cooperating with us, and maybe it's time for for a new one.

Given the proliferation of digital cameras in the market, and the concurrent explosion in features, it's awfully hard to wade through them all.

Needless to say, we're looking at the Coolpix 4800. I want something small - the 995 is a PITA size wise. Andy is insisting on a "decent" (more than 3x) optical zoom for reef pics, which is fine. I'm just trying to keep it in perspective. (That 80% of the pictures we take are just snapshots of our dogs and cats!) I also don't want to spend a fortune, and the 4800 pops up online for around $300.

If anyone has one, what do you think? Like it? Hate it? Or if you have something else that you really love, is small, 4-5 mpx-ish, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg, let me know.

Thanks in advance,
Danielle

Danielle- I use a CoolPix 885, which I don't think is made anymore. The only thing I don't like about my camera is the cost of the batteries. The rechargeable are not just simple rechargeable AAs. Hmmm...I think there is a good thread here in M'vlle about digital cameras. I may have even started it

I have the 4500. Not sure what the differences are between the two, but I love mine.
