Any earthquake victims?

Felt a little rumbler tonight - my first thought was "OMG, my fish tank!!!!!!" But I found out it was centered around 35 miles away - I think in Lafayette, CA. lotsa very nice homes and fish tanks in that neck of the woods.

They said it was only a 4.5, but did anyone have any problems?

I've been in two large earthquakes. The first was the 1971 San Fernando quake magnitude 6.6 that I don't remember at all. 65 people died.

The other was the 1989 San Francisco Loma Prieta quake magnitude 6.9. It lasted 15 seconds and was the ride of a lifetime. I was at work during the time. It shutdown the World Series and knocked part of the bay bridge down. Sections of freeway fell down all over and 63 people died. There's some amazing pics and info on it here:

Yeah that 1989 quake was wild, luckily I wasn't all the way in SF - so I was able to 'enjoy the ride' in a way. Hope that is not offensive to anyone that got hurt that day.

Yeah, we had a tornado touch down but missed us. The kids are extactic cause they are out of school. Lots of people are still out of power. We got very lucky!

We had a tornado come through Houston and Bibb county, but not in my area. I had some strong wind that shifted my vinyl fence and blew a panel out of it. I saw a few trees down on the way to school this morning. Other than that, my side of the county didn't have much damage.
