Any baseball card collectors here??

I acquired a baseball card collection a few years ago and i just now opened it up to see what ive even got. Im confused. I have the following card, and it appears mint to me. It WASNT in a protective cover but it has perfect edges, centering and no scuffs or marks anywhere...it looks mint to me. Anyways........ Why is there such a huge price difference in the following two cards???

I'm no collector but my guess would be that the amazingly high priced one is in better shape and has better ratings. In other words in the card world, that one must be better by some standards that I myself will never understand

He started collecting the burts a long time ago because he thought he was going to be somebody and he was sure the card was going to be worth $1k each.... They are each worth about $.005.
