Another stupid IE question
After using Netscape for about 5 yrs I now have IE as my browser  I went to lookup my bank balance online but IE wouldn't open the page. Emailed bank and they suggested I DL the IE 6 service pack to update the security thing. Did that and now I can access online banking, and I notice increased speed when browsing the boards. IE doesn't seem to like Yahoo much, which is a drag cause thats my default mail and I use YIM, but any way. Since doing the upgrade I get a constant barrage of MS based popups that I didn't have before. Is there any way to turn that off?

I am looking for a way to deselect it in IE itself. I have run other progs in NS that eliminated most popups but caused other issues I would rather avoid.

I think you have to turn off the M.S. messenger system.
Have a look here:

and click on the o.s. you are running on the right side of the page.

Interesting Bob, I went in and checked like it said, my file and print sharing is not enabled. I spent an hr and 45 min last night trying to DL the NS files to reinstall, with 8 min to go it stopped saying too many line errors to continue

if yo can get a hold of msn9 it has a atuo pop killer.. i have it and it really does work right on the money. it even gives you a really small window of what it killed. are you using the blue "e" or the butterfly?

I dont like IE, MSN, or AOL, I have used NS since I got onto a puter and am most at ease with it
