Well first I unwrap the box. ROFL!!!!!!!
No honestly they come with directions and such and you cut sand paint and glue together. I must say it is a challenge with the parts so small. If you look on the main turret on the left there are ammo cans and canteens hanging on the outside of it. Each one had to be cut out and sanded with a fine fingernail file and glued in place. once it is at a place where it needs to be painted there are may ways to get different effects like rust dirt etc so just look at a pic of a real one and it can be done with paint too.
Ppl put together whats is called dirorama's and this is a whole scene with figures buildings and all they are so cool. If you look at this page it is a great example of one

Hope you enjoy

That's cool Jeff. I used to build models when I was a kid. Mostly cars and trucks but I did a tank once. Not nearly as nice as yours. Rubber band powered airplanes were my favorite. After they crashed a few times and were beyond repair, we used to fill them up with lighter fluid and burn them LOL.

Those are really great, Jeff!
Building models was one of my main hobbies as a kid. Of course, they were all balsa wood back then; plastic hadn't been invented yet!
I did a lot of solid balsa ships and planes and then, there were the stick and paper planes; many of them were flying models with gas engines. I have a half-finished Sopwith Camel that I'm going to complete one of these days!!
For photographing them, you might want to consider a 'light box', that will give you even illumination. They are very easy (and cheap) to make; basically a framework over which you can drape a sheet and aim some cheap lights at.
Here's one that a friend of mine made and really works great:

You do excellent work with those.

OH, and I LOVE the army models, too! I'm thinking, would Trevor like that for his birthday? (Army ROTC, you know, liked to build models when he was little...)
Thanks for the pics!

I giess we have something in common, I do 1/48 scale jets, helicopters, and planes. Here is a sample.
The colors do not show here properly due to a crappy camera.
