ACL torn in dog

Has anyone had their dog in for surgery for a torn ACL? Mine goes in Monday for surgery. If you have I would like to know the outcome and time for recovery.

Our neighbor's dog had ACL surgery on a rear leg a few months ago. The dog has made a full recovery. They had to do physical therapy to force the animal to use the injured leg. Stretching exercises and the like. The funniest therapy was to nudge the dog in the side opposite the injured leg while taking a walk. This forces the dog to put its foot down to avoid toppling over. Dog tipping?

Good luck. I hope everything goes well.

My dog had this done a few years ago. Operation went fine, no complications. As she got a bit older she did favor the leg a little bit when the weather got cold. Just make sure your vet knows what he's doing.
Good Luck!
