Hehehehe, I loved star wars when it was new, hated that it took years between episodes. Have the 1st set on vhs, not sure I want to rebuy on DVD , then again their is the Alien Quadrilogy

not worth it to buy on DVD imo...i would love to have the widescreen, but i do not like the edits for the re-release. do not like them here or there, i would not like them anywhere. i would not like them in a plane i would not like them in a train...i do not like those edits....errrr...yah...too early in the morning for me to be posting

anyway, Lucas says this is his "intended vision" or some BS like that so he is keeping all the stuff they added in the late 90s and never intends to release the originals on DVD

my old roomate and i did the trilogy all in a row a couple times...dont start at midnight...not the right decision

He's made additional changes to the DVD's mainly to try & fix up some of the stuff from the '97 SE's. I had to buy them, not sure why exactly. I've already got 4 VHS sets, a Laser Disc set & the original cuts on DVD so what's one more set.

As far as Lucas is concerned these are the only versions of the films that exist.

Many are hopefull he'll change his mind & release some kind of ultimate Star Wars set in a year or two.

Here's a review of the discs...
http://www.thedigitalbits.com/review...rstrilogy.html

Looks like between the DVD's & the new Star Wars Battlefront game they took in $115 million on Tuesday alone.
