Getting a NJ club up and running
I've been searching in my local area and so far there are no "reef clubs". I'm still a newbie, but I'd like to get a club going in northern NJ. Even if it starts just as a forum. I'm willing to host monthly meetings, I can post on other sites to try to recruit and check with LFS's to see if they'll offer any discouts. If nothing else it's a way to chat, trade and save money. If you live in northern NJ and you're interested post your replies here.

I'm in Flanders. I go out to PA for the Pocono Mountain Reef Club meetings. You're welcome to tag along if you'd like.

If you haven't been over to www.njreefers.org/forums in a while, now's a good time to go check it out. There's a lot of activity over there these days with monthly meetings, group buys and sponsor discounts.

There is a Northern Jersey reef club that we have been working on. We do not have an independent webpage yet but you can access it through www.altisreef.com Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Forum. This will bring you to the club forum. We've had two meetings so far and a frag swap. We are planning on having one meeting a month.
Most of the members are from Nothern Jersey but we also have members from Souther Jersey, Manhattan and PA. Its a mealting pot of sorts.

The NJ Club spans the whole state, with meetings in the southern teir once every 3 months. Our next southern meeting is in February, everyone's welcome to attend them.
Regarding other area clubs, I know there's a club in Delaware though, which might be closer for you? There's also a club in Philly.

Easton PA here, right on the NJ border. I grew up in NJ as well. How are you making out with your efforts to get people together?

We have relatives out just past Easton (Bangor).
I think there's a reef club close to where you are ( Mountain Valley Reef Club).
For the NJ side there's NJReefers.org. Our January meeting is up in Pittstown off of 78, not too far from you either.

Actually www.mountainvalleyreef.com covers Northern NJ and Eastern PA. I'm a member there. It's a cool group. Very laid back and generous with frags.
