That was strange. I had downloaded those 5 pics into my gallery here then posted them using the image code. I reposted them and they are back now.

Kathy - Fishnu got #3. Last I heard #3 was missing, He may have left the fuge and gotten too close to a return pump??

Here is a pic I took of #1 in August of 2007 when I had had the TBS for about two weeks. He is black and maybe 1 inch long

So last night I am taking some new pics of the tank and I see the 2 mantis chasing each other. They went the length of the tank twice and then I see #2 go to his rock and disappear. #1 stayed out for a while. I put the feeding stick in the tank to entice her to come out for a pic and she kept attacking the stick - giving it a really good "pop!"

They were going so fast that they were just a blur. I couldn't even tell who as chasing whom let alone get a pic of it. So I am not sure if the chasing was because #2 came to #1's rock or if this was a bit of courting.

I have never seen much interaction between the two mantis although there have been a couple of times where they have exchanged homes for a few days at a time. AS I have said before I am not even sure if they are a male/female couple.

I think I got a decent pic of #2 which I will post after I get home from work.
She seems to be a much deeper red color now.

Wennerae #2

Interesting observation. I can only imagine what a climax sounds like between courting mantis shrimps! Could be dangerous for one or the other!
