I'd like to buy a mantis shrimp

Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a mantis shrimp I'm particularly interested in the peacock mantis, but any mantis would be nice.

I've checked a lot of places online, such as thatpetplace, bluezooaquatics, TBS, and my LFS. So far, only TBS has a mantis in stock, but they only sell the Wennerae types. Has anyone kept these? Any good comments about them?

Anyway, do you guys know where else to buy a mantis shrimp aside from the ones I listed?

Also, if you have a mantis shrimp that you want to give away, I'd be happy to take it. I'll pay for shipping, of course.

Thanks for the reply. That was a great help.

Actually, now I'm thinking of getting a Wennerae, heh heh. They're much cheaper.

I was wondering if someone could clarify the shipping policy on TBS. From my understanding, there are two shipment offers:

Airline: pay $1/lb, but you must pick up from the airline facility.
Fedex: costs $5.50 per pound, and they have a minimum charge of $110.00 for a box weighing up to 20 pounds.

Airline way seems really inconvenient. Fedex seems a bit expensive... Charging the Wennerae $110 + base price for the mantis. Is this correct?

Also, what's with the 'deliver to door' option? It's $50 compared to the ~$10 one. I thought Fedex delivers packages to your house regardless of the option.

Thats where i got mine, the $50 option IS including the shipping, so its 50 dollars in all. You can also tell them what size and color you want and it should arrive within a couple of days. Mine is pretty funny he smashes stuff all day and watches me walk around.
