WTB 55g-ish acrylic tank, 36" maximum width

Hi there, first time poster, I was refered to this forum by a craigslist poster who mentioned that there are quite a few people from washington / oregon that post here. I'm in Vancouver, WA and I'm looking to replace my estableshed 36" wide x 12" deep x 23" tall glass tank with something of similar dimensions that I can add a drilled overflow to. The current tank is tempered glass so drilling it isn't going to work. The existing stand I have can accomodate a tank up to 36" wide by 15.5" deep, but the aquarium space in my appartment is only 36" wide, so I can't fit a wider tank.

As far as tank preferences, if I had a choice between one with a drilled overflow and no overflow, I would pick the one with an overflow built in, but i can install one too. I don't need a stand, but if you have one that goes with the tank and want it gone, I can deal with that too. I have all the filtration, substrate, etc from the estableshed tank.

New or used, either way works for me. Please let me know if you have such a tank, or know of where I can purchase one. I'll be checking this thread regularily, or you can e-mail me at piercet@comcast.net

Thank you!
Tim

Tim,
Most likely the tank that you have is only tempered on the bottom. So, you could very easily drill holes in the back of the tank and add a over flow. I did this with my 50G glass tank and it works very good. If you look on e-bay you can find glass drill bits for cheap and then all you need is a squirt bottle of water and a cordless drill.
