WANTED Light setup

I have a 55 gallon with coralife 36' with 2-96 watt compacts. Not Enought for hard coral.I would like to find 48' vho 4x110 = 440, I need ballast end caps wireing. I plan on buying new but If somebody has something used I would rather save some coin. I will consider any setup with equal watt ! When I replace the 36's thay are up for sale or trade thanks Hank

What kind of hard coral?

You might want to go with MH lighting... which might turn out to be less expesive too, if you know how to mount a bare ballast, check out hellolights.com and reefgeek.com if you can't find anything on here

If you decide to buy new - consider getting your DIY parts from Woody @ Seahorse. He has in stock ballasts, wiring, caps, bulbs, etc..

Re: the amount of light. -- I'm growing Monti caps and Monti Digs, plus GSPs, Shrooms, and Xenia under 4x110 vho. My tank is 48 long and 24" deep. With your shallower water column you should be able to do quite a bit.

I do have one Millipora that is growing extremely slowly --- I'm sure he'd do better with MH, or T5, or a combo.

hth,
