Trimming back sale - captive coral sale
It's about that time of the year that I need to do some trimming and pretty up the tank. Except this time I'm doing some major trimming to make room for new corals that I have always been wanting.
I have posted the mother colony pictures and can send anyone with pictures of frags if interested. So let me know if you are interested in any of the cuttings. Any left over at the end of August will be taken to LFS, then you can pay their price.
http://www.romperroo.com/FishCorner/trading_post.htm
So either shoot me an e-mail or PM and we can make arrangements for your to come over and see. I haven't start on cutting the corals so if you are interested, then I'll be making some cuttings directly from the colonies.
Thanks
Jim

Thanks wanareef. Check with me. I've kinda grown tired of looking at a couple of large colonies and want to trim them back. I used to keep the frags, but this time I told myself to take what ever that doesn't sale to the LFS. Some of the small frags are large size to LFS, but I thought I try to help out and also with the cost of things, kinda help me out as well. Soon these guys will be at LFS and I'll let them make the profit.

Do you think they will survive under vho / PC lighting? I have 2-95 VHO and 144 PC lighting in a 50 gallon tank. Do you think they will survive USPS priority mail? I would love to have frags of M. capricornis (purple rim), Hynophora, A. nana. Thanks.

Hi Lime,
I'm sorry, but at this time, I'm not setup to ship any corals. I'm thinking about doing it later, but will not make it available in the dead of Summer and Winter. Due to the temperature. I have done MO in the late Spring and have received a package of corals that wasn't packed properly. They forgot an ice pack, so everything came in warm. They did survive for a week then all croaked after the 5 day guarantee.
With your lighting, yes they will be find in your lighting. The purple rim capri will color up nicely. The hydo will do great in any lighting condition and the A. Nana will do find higher in your tank.
Ping me in September and let's see where I'm at with things. I may you use as a test subject. You will need to pay for shipping. I'll send you the piece free of charge.
Where in CA are you. I visit the Bay Area from time to time and can bring them myself if the timing works. Atleast the corals will be in moderate temperature.

I'm from Modesto Ca. about an hour and a half away from the bay area close to Stockton. That would be great, I'll shoot you an email in Sept. If you ever visit the bay area just let me know and I'll meet you there. I would love to have some of those beautiful and colorful corals of yours. I just can't wait, I guess I can say " I would be proud to be your test dummy" lol. Thanks.

Thanks. Modesto??? Maybe we should do the shipping then. I hate to have your drive to San Jose. I don't even drive past 60 miles for a coral. How's the stores in Modesto? There's a store out in Oakland that's suppose to be real good with selections.

LFS here are ok but not too many selections on corals and a bit expensive. The new big store is in San Leandro close to Oakland, I haven't been there but planning to visit it this weekend. I don't mind driving that far because I do fish store hopping when I go that far.

Corals
Hey, I was just wondering if you had any of the Montipora capricornis(green w/purple rim) and A. Nana left to sell. If so, would you be willing to hang onto them till meeting time? If not I can probably get up there before then. Lemme know.
Thanks,
Bobby

Hey Bobby,
No problem on the capri and nana. I'll save it for the next meeting. The only thing about the capri is the rims aren't as purple as it used to be. This was partially caused by the bulb that was there. I've changed the bulbs and also put some in my prop tank. They will color up again.

Jim,
I would really like to get some of your frags. Exactly what I was looking for! I'm in the North Bay Area so next time you come to San Francisco, let me know and we'll get together. Maybe you want to see my tank
