Berlin Skimmer F/S-Classic Sump (New in Box)

I have a new, unused Red Sea Berlin protein skimmer for sale:

Still in the box – no defects. (Vendor sent me the sump model instead of the hang-on model, then further screwed up by not issuing a pick-up tag for the mistake - three years ago.) Includes a charcoal chamber at the top for use with ozone. Pump is not included. $100 firm, COD, shipping included.

This is an OK skimmer for the price - Seach the board for improvments that optimize performance.

[The pictured hang-onold hang-on model was SOLD 12/31/02)

Hi Richard,

Is the hang-on unit complete? ie....pump? If so, I'll take it. I'm sure it would outperform my current prizm skimmer. You can email me at bharnisch@marketstar.com and or post back here for more info. Thanks.

The H.O. unit does not include the pump. All else is complete. Seems current thinking is that the Mag Drive 500 works better than the Red Sea "turbo conversion." . . .

IME the H.O. works best w/o the "turbo conversion"/bubble splitting pump. Use a good strong pump (Mag Drive?) and the provided venture with an airstone inserted down to the bottom. I drilled the cap to do so. I'll include the long air tube and a limewood stone if you wish. Also, some people have had performance improvements by purchasing a different venture valve - $18?

Sounds good. I've got an air pump I can use. That would be great if you'll throw in the rigid tubing and a diffuser. I'll email you my shipping info.

Thanks,

Brian.

Hi Rich,

Got the skimmer today. Everything looks great! I really appreciate it and I'm sure my fish will too.

Re: Berlin Classic

I sent you another PM about the classic Berlin Skimmer.

I see that it's just the skimmer: no pump.... I still interested.
