This is crazy

I just bought a Cleaner Shrimp at PJ's tonight. I always check the salinity of my tank and the water in the bag of the livestock that I get and from there I judge how long i would have to acclimate.

Well my salinity is fine at 1.025 but i tested the water that came from PJs and its at 1.034 which is ridiculous. How am i suppose to acclimate something with that much of a difference, how is something even living under those conditions.

How long would i have to acclimate this shrimp to get it to ok levels to put into my tank. Either way my PJs is getting a phone call tomorrow since they were already closed by the time i found this out.

I am guessing that it would take hours and hours to get it down at a safe rate without killing the shrimp. It seems not even worth it, I could still be acclimating by mid day tomorrow at this rate am I right?

Shrimp

I would drip acclimate for 45 minuts to an hour and then put the shrimp in your tank.

ok this is what i did. I dripped for close to two hours adding more of my tank water every 10-15 mins, then put the shrimp in, seems to be doing fine but my lights just went out so i will find out tomorrow if it made it.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that salinity can change due to certain factors
I know temp has an effect, not sure what else
