Do a search for "Dustin Dorton" and "red bugs" on google. You'll have plenty of information on Tegastes acroporanus (da bugs). It's not as spooky as it sounds. Just follow the recipe and the culling of shrimp and crabs and all will be well. My system rebounded (no bad bugs and plenty of pods and mysid etc) in just months. To boot, my coral banded shrimp lived through it (I just couldn't get him out of the reef).

Best of luck!

Dave

I treated my tank a while back. Basically it is a total system treatment with interceptor follwed by water changes and carbon. I lost most of my pods but they came back quickly.

Really easy to treat, unlike the dreaded acro eating flatworms.

Yes I agree, I treated my system in the past as well. One 50-100lb dog pill treats 380 gallons of water. Do one treatment a week for 3 weeks. Turn off your skimmer air flow but leave it running so it is filled with water, remove any carbon and treat for 6 hours. After 6 hours do a 25-50% water change and run heavy carbon. As others said try to get out your shrimps and crabs because they may not make it.

The most recent info I have seen says they are live bearers and as such there is no need for 3 treatments, but I would still do 3 just to be safe.
