Man, that's a bummer. You've tried all the usual? FW dip, hyposalinity? I guess if you don't have any fish left eventually you can wait 6 weeks and be done with the ich.

Do you have any cleaner shrimp?

Ick is a real pain especially when you try to treat it in the display tank. I now run a UV 24/7. It think it lowers the paracite load enough for the fish to fight it off, but I know its alway there to some degree.

Qt

Sorry to hear the ick is back.
Might be time to consider setting up a QT for fish. Then you could remove all the fish from the display and treat them in the QT.

That is what I'd do. Let the ick die off in your display tank.

QT! QT! QT!
i had a battle w/ ich too. i had just gotten a new clown and it was young. a few days after being added to my system he devloped fungus. i did a 10g water change on my main system and used the older water to setup a temp 10g tank. a few weeks of good food/garlic/selcon/R&R he was back to health.

No Money, No Space = no option for a QT. If i had the room and the money, then i would definitely have one. I dont pay the bills, i live at home until im am done with school, so it is out of question. Looks like that Kole tang might bring down might bring down my whole system. I have had those clows for almost a year and a half now too. Its too bad. But i do know if everything does go then it will stay empty for 6 weeks.

In the meantime, i will try and convince my parents in letting me set up another tank.

My only option right now is to feed with garlic and selcon, and use something like a stop parasite.

I will keep everyone posted. Hopefully i wont go through any more losses.

You spend more money killing and buying fish again and the chemicals then a QT tank and the tank is to small for the tang which mite have started the whole thing.

Qt

The only other thing you might need is a biological filter, like a sponge filter with a sponge that is colonized with bacteria from your display system.
You could get by withouy one but you would need to do daily water changes with water from your display system.

I know the clownfish are going to pass, soon most likely, one is already in the advanced stages of brook and breathing heavily and almost grey. The other is in the earlier stages but i think by the time i get all the stuff and perform formalin dips it will be to late.

I feel really bad these two clowns were my first 2 fish and have stuck with me throughout my upgrades. They started off in my 10g a year and a half ago and have become a nice mated pair. Its sad to watch as the male will not leave the females side as shes slowly passing.

Thing is that after they do go I have one more fish in there, a yellow watchman goby, who throughout out all of this has not seemed to be affected. Will he be ok in the DT or should I try and get him out.

The only good news that came out of this is that after my parents seeing my lose all these fish in the past few weeks, I can now set up a QT tank. I think i will be going with a 20g L for it.

Could I set this up with water from my DT and would it be ready to go, or will it need to be cycled still. After i do get it set up should i get the goby out and put him in there and leave my DT empty for 6 weeks allowing everything to die off in there.

Anything special i need for the QT?
