Geothermal Cooling - chuck

I've gone the long way around, but am interested to know if anyone, Chuck Spyropulos especially (based on another post on another site), has successfully used a geothermal loop to cool their tank.

If so, what did you learn?

I am currently experimenting with it, to cool a different type of 'tank.' We are cooling livestock watering tanks. The concept is the same. I have yet to post the statistics, but a rough page is on the web at
www.quietthymefarm.com/farm_frames.htm choose Geothermal chiller from the left navigation frame.

After viewing your website, it appears that you have goten further than I ever did with the Geo chiller! Longer lines will defnitley help increase efficiency but may require a stronger pump. Also, if you are lucky enough to have moist or wet soil, that should help transfer the heat from the coil to the ground more eficiently than dry soil. I live near wetlands so when and if I ever do a geo thermal chiller, I will at least have good heat transfer into the ground. My biggest hurdle was to dig a hole deep enough and wide enough. I wish I had some of your equipment forthat chore! Good luck and keep us posted!
