The Reefnecks 38 g Rescue Tank

We were given this tank in order to rescue it from Hair Algae.

Details we currently have on it until later when I can get some lights on and investigate contents better ...

Perfecto 36 x 12 x 20 Glass Tank
White Stand
Coralife 250W HQI 20K Metal Halide Clip On Light
Coralife 2 x 18W 6500K PC Light
1 Power head
Heater
HOB Filter

Inhabitants that we know of...

Pair of False Percs and their Anemone
Sixline Wrasse
PJ Cardinalfish
Yellow Watchman Goby (and we think a pistol shrimp)
Blenny
Long Spine Urchin

Bubble Coral
Pale Pink Feather Duster
Brown Button Polyps
Green Striped Mushrooms
Blue Mushrooms
Chili Coral (I think)
Pagoda Cup (in very sad shape)
Toadstool

Here's a FTS (and a few others) of it about 20 minutes after we got it brought in and filled it with water (it was moved with about 50% of original water and topped off with new SW). We're hoping we can do another water change tonight and gets some of the HA and other debris cleaned out of it during the process.

Thanks George and Frank. It's going to be a labour of frustration I'm sure.

We're going to start with pulling off by hand, suctioning out during frequent waterchanges, etc. We'll probably also get a better filter going on it and possibly a skimmer too. We're even contemplating putting a small DIY 10g fuge/sump on it.

Anyone able to ID the Blennie? I haven't been able to find a good ID match yet. I'll try to get a better picture of him today as well.

I thought you guys were trying to consolidate!!! hahaha

Put all the corals / fish in your hospital tank and nuke the rest... You can use the tank later as a fuge/sump and even use the rock once a chance of spike has passed...

Yeah I'd like to consolidate!

If we can swing a trade on a 125, there will be alot of consolidating going on and you're right ... this would make a good fuge/sump.

(Internet picture, as our's won't stay out long enough for me to get a picture)

Dang, you need a lawnmower, and not the blennie kind. I had a starry blenny last tank. They are very cool. They can chage the oattern of spots and markings and to a small degree even color. It took mine a while to come out regularly but he was always skittish.

I put 1 large Mexican Turbo Snail in from my tank earlier, but he's not doing much yet (sitting on a rock with no algae).

Don't let her fool you. It is a labor of passion for her. I created a monster when I got her interested in reefkeeping. I find her at 2AM with a red flashlight standing in front of one of the tanks just quietly watching. Magnifying glass in one hand, Red LED in the other. I like it though. This is something we both share as a hobby and other than when I am dragged down by my illnesses it's a lot of fun to be able to sit down and have intelligent debates & conversations on reefkeeping with each other.

Man I love that woman!

Keri

We are but I think our friends misunderstood. They must have thought we meant that we could consolidate their tanks into our home.
