Reef Junky & JWerner's 180


This all started with a 72 gal fish only bow front. Then we saw all the reef tanks set up at the fish stores and HAD to have one of those too. The first one was a 13 gal with PC's which was quickly followed by a 42 with T5's, which still wasn't big enough so we converted that one into a 180 with MH.

Here's the fish tank that started it

This is the 180 today

It has 3 150w HQI 10K MH with 4 96w actinics and moonlights.
Actinics on 11 hours a day and MH's on 8 hours

400 series sump with 10 gal refugium, 2 protien skimmers, 3 Koralia 4's

Live sand substrate

Fish/Livestock:
Red Sea Sail Fin Tang
Scopus Tang
Sand Sifting Goby
5 Green Chromis
2 Black Saddle Clowns
4 Line Wrasse
Mandarin Goby
Lamark Angel
Red Firefish
Purple Firefish
Midas Blenny
Blue Linkia Starfish
2 sea cucumbers
crabs, snails, etc
Dersa Clam
Maxima Clam

Various hard and soft corals:
Green Birdsnest
Tricolor tort
Ricordia
Trumpets
Merelina
Various plate corals
Zoas
Tongue Coral
Several Monti caps
Several brain corals
Mushrooms
Scroll
Various Acro
Flower pot
Multiple Hammers/Frogspawn
whatever else we forgot to mention

Dose calcium and alkalinity daily, magnesium twice a week, iodine one a week

Feed Cyclopeze, Phyto Pure and mysis

72 fish only now reef lol


well last night me and the wife made the 72 a reef tank too its full of the soft stuff t5 and leaves the 180 for the hard stuff so i got 3 reef tanks now i aready had live rock in it so all i had to do was add rock and coral i will put up more pic soon
heres the break down
